About us
Recording the flora of Türkiye since 2004
NGBB Herbarium was founded in 2004 to document the plants grown at the Nezahat Gökyiğit Botanic Garden. In 2010 it was registered in the Index Herbariorum with the code "NGBB".
Comprising seed plants, ferns, lichens, carpology and cultivated plant collections, our herbarium holds around 20,000 plant specimens. As of 2022, the data and images of our specimens are available online via the virtual herbarium.

As part of the Global Strategy for Plant Conservation, in 2020 we began transferring the data and high-resolution images of our herbarium specimens to the web.
